1 판별식

a, b, c가 실수인 이차방정식 [math]\displaystyle{ ax^2 + bx + c = 0 }[/math]에서

판별식 [math]\displaystyle{ D=b^2-4ac }[/math]

2 근의 판별

a, b, c가 실수인 이차방정식 [math]\displaystyle{ ax^2 + bx + c = 0 }[/math]에서 판별식 [math]\displaystyle{ D=b^2-4ac }[/math]라 할 때,

• [math]\displaystyle{ D\gt 0 }[/math]이면 서로 다른 실근 2개를 가짐

이차방정식이 서로 다른 실근 2개를 가지면 [math]\displaystyle{ D\gt 0 }[/math]

• [math]\displaystyle{ D=0 }[/math]이면 중근을 가짐

이차방정식이 중근을 가지면 [math]\displaystyle{ D=0 }[/math]

• [math]\displaystyle{ D\lt 0 }[/math]이면 서로 다른 허근 2개를 가짐

이차방정식이 서로 다른 허근 2개를 가지면 [math]\displaystyle{ D\lt 0 }[/math]
