I was waiting for this album, which boasted to be the first all rap album in Korea, because I read earlier that YunMiRae from Uptown will participate in this experimental creation.
Imagine my disappointment when I found out that it didn't happen, after reading through the inner sleeve. And this Kang, Se Il's creation is not a particularly excellent album as far as I'm concerned. I was more hoping for a hard-core rap, but all the tracks are more of soft "talk songs", neither the dance rap nor the hard-core rap.
Besides the music and formats, Mr. Kim's rap lyrics are too repetitive. I mean having rhymes is cool, but using the same rhymes for four or more consecutive phrase just don't click. I am sure he is good at certain types of rap, but frankly I don't this was it. Even Hanul from DjDOC couldn't save this album.

KimJinPyo, the rapper of Panic, released his first album in 97. Another member of Panic, LeeJeok acted as radio program announcer and so on. After releasing the album < Mit >, Panic stopped the band temporary. KimJinPyo thought he's a artist also not only just rapper, so he released his solo album. This album is very well made rap album. At first they thought Korean is not proper to rap, but some artists proved it's not true. This album < YeolOi > is one of the albums. KimJinPyo contained social problems like the relation of father and son, school days and so on. It succeed the commercial hit with the love song [Play:KimJinPyo1SaRangHaeGeuRiGoSaengGakHae.mp3 SaRangHae GeuRiGo SaengGakHae; Love U and Remember U]. He got the name as artist and as star also.

I don't know if you've seen my minireview of his solo debut album. I was very, very disappointed. Frankly, as with ShinHaeCheol's album I had to fight very hard (internally) to buy this second album. :) But after listening to it, I believe my conscious effort has not gone to waste (twice!).
Of course, his Korean rhymes sometimes get too simplistic and repetitive, but musically, this album is a HUGE improvement over the last one. His writing (for words) has definitely gotten much better. But, I think the biggest change might have come from NamGungYeon's songwriting. I don't know his previous work, but from the credits, he wrote more than half of the music, including some really good ones (e.g., ChakGak).
Bottom line: Definitely worth a try. I think he might be really getting his "style."
This is his second solo album. I personally didn't care much his first one. The music was too "boring" for my taste and I thought his raps were bordering on "talk song". However, this album is something that I enjoyed. Try ChakGak. --HongCho, 1999-09-13
