1 등차중항

• 등차수열에서 두 값의 사이에 있는 값(들)
• 세 수 [math]\displaystyle{ a, b, c }[/math]가 순서대로 등차수열을 이룰 때, [math]\displaystyle{ b }[/math]는 [math]\displaystyle{ a }[/math]와 [math]\displaystyle{ c }[/math]의 등차중항(=산술평균)
• [math]\displaystyle{ a, x_1, x_2, \cdots, x_m, b }[/math]가 등차수열을 이룰 때, [math]\displaystyle{ x_1, x_2, \cdots, x_m }[/math]는 a와 b의 등차중항
• 예: 2, 5, 8은 등차수열이므로 5는 2와 8의 등차중항

2 등비중항

• 등비수열에서 두 값의 사이에 있는 값(들)
• 세 수 [math]\displaystyle{ a, b, c }[/math]가 순서대로 등비수열을 이룰 때, [math]\displaystyle{ b }[/math]는 [math]\displaystyle{ a }[/math]와 [math]\displaystyle{ c }[/math]의 등비중항(=기하평균)
• [math]\displaystyle{ a, x_1, x_2, \cdots, x_m, b }[/math]가 등비수열을 이룰 때, [math]\displaystyle{ x_1, x_2, \cdots, x_m }[/math]는 a와 b의 등비중항
• 예: 48, 12, 3은 등비수열이므로 12은 48와 3의 등차중항

3 조화중항

• 조화수열에서 두 값의 사이에 있는 값(들)
• 세 수 [math]\displaystyle{ a, b, c }[/math]가 이 순서로 조화수열을 이룰 때, [math]\displaystyle{ b }[/math]는 [math]\displaystyle{ a }[/math]와 [math]\displaystyle{ c }[/math]의 조화중항(=조화평균)
