중간값 정리, 중간값의 정리

[math]\displaystyle{ f(x) }[/math]가 폐구간 [math]\displaystyle{ [a, b] }[/math]에서 연속일 때 [math]\displaystyle{ f(a)\lt f(b) }[/math]라 하면

[math]\displaystyle{ f(a)\lt u\lt f(b) }[/math]인 임의의 값 [math]\displaystyle{ u }[/math]에 대하여

[math]\displaystyle{ f(c)=u }[/math]가 되는 [math]\displaystyle{ c }[/math]가 구간 [math]\displaystyle{ (a,b) }[/math]에 적어도 하나 존재한다.
