인수 정리

• 다항식 [math]\displaystyle{ P(x) }[/math]가 일차식 [math]\displaystyle{ x-a }[/math]로 나누어떨어지면 [math]\displaystyle{ P(a)=0 }[/math]이다.

[math]\displaystyle{ P(a)=0 }[/math]이면 다항식 [math]\displaystyle{ P(x) }[/math]는 일차식 [math]\displaystyle{ x-a }[/math]로 나누어떨어진다.

• 다항식 f(x)에 대해 다음은 동치이다.

[math]\displaystyle{ f(a)=0 }[/math]

[math]\displaystyle{ f(x)=(x-a)Q(x) }[/math]꼴로 표현 가능

[math]\displaystyle{ f(x) }[/math]를 [math]\displaystyle{ x-a }[/math]로 나눈 나머지가 0
