To Read Hangeul

This rule is not standard, just a table made by DisTort. DisTort made this rule because the simple and consistent HanGeul expression.

10.09 is the Day of HanGeul. SeJong the Great King and his SeongGyunGwan Scholars made HanGeul and proclaimed in 1443.

1 Initial Sound; 초성[ | ]

Half Toungue Sound; 반혓소리 R
Lip Sound; 입술소리 M . B . Bb . P
Tooth Sound; 잇소리 S . Ss . J . Jj . Ch

X : not expressed in Roman Alphabet, and not pronounced

2 Vowels; 중성[ | ]

Compound Vowels; 중모음 ya . yeo . yo . yu . ye . yae
Complex Vowels; 복모음 wa . oi . wae . wo . wi . we . eui

3 Final Consonants; 종성[ | ]

In case of the complex final consonants, only one consonant is pronounced. But when it connected with the Initial Sound ㆁ(X) the last consonant is pronounced.

    • 닭(Dalg, [ dak ], chickens)
    • 먹었다(DalgEul MeokEotDa, [ dal geul meok eot da ], I ate chicken.)
    • 돈이 없다(DonI EobsDa, [ don i eob da ], I don't have money.)
    • 돈이 없까?(DonI EobsEulGga, [ don i eob seul gga ], Don't you have money?)
