robin, European robin (Erithacus rubecula)
울새, 유럽울새
  • 영국의 국민 새.[1] 매우 흔하다. 사람을 별로 무서워하지 않는다. 크리스마스 카드에 자주 등장한다.
  • 크기는 12.5–14.0 cm로 작고, 암수 깃털 색깔이 비슷하다. 가슴 부위가 오렌지색인 것이 특징(그래서 옛날에는 redbreast라 불림)[2]
  • 수컷은 사납고 텃세가 강하다. 자기 구역에 들어온 다른 수컷을 공격하고, 다른 작은 새들도 공격하고, 심지어 거울 등에 비친 자기 모습도 공격[3]
