1 Biography[ | ]
My Aunt Mary are a promising amatuer three member band. The style is modern pop with a hint of electronic dance music. British pop influences from Oasis to the Beatles can be detected in their music although the slow droning style gives the impression they might be following more arty influences like New Order, Joy Division and so on. Titles of their tracks such as Cubism, add to the musician-fron-art-school tradition image.
My Aunt Mary recorded one demo tape featuring live and studio tracks towards the end of 1997. Following that they gradually disbanded as members were drawn into military service. Some members seems to have achieved an early release and forms of the band can occassionally be seen performing around the Hongik University / Shinchon area.
They released their debut album in late '98 or early '99. --MichaelGlass
