They said their weird name comes from combining two words: gang and Catholic (because they met at a Catholic church). I am not 100% sure, but I think Gangtholic are KimDoYeong (aka. Doboi) and ImTaeHyeong (aka. Tyung). Although these two main members wrote all the words and most of the music and sang/rapped, there are quite a bunch of Gang A.G.'s creative forces working on it.

Since I don't listen to rap that much, I am not sure how "gang"-ster hip-hop-ish they actually are. Also, their album title is an acronym which stands for Another Revolution Is Climbing, which doesn't sound that exciting. Frankly speaking, I really don't see how hard-core hip-hop and gangster rap can be translated and incorporated to Korean language and society. I know I am no clair-voyant, so somebody might do it right in my lifetime, but I don't think this is it. The directions I see are two-folds; one is a very hard-core, which I don't see happening in the gayo scene, and the other is the party music, which I can, at least, picture it happening.

Bottom line: An interesting group name. However, the music and the message (if there were any, except for a lot of "F'in'") hardly catch my attention.
