1 개요

whatis

/usr/bin/whatis

• 리눅스 whatis 데이터베이스 검색 명령어
• 명령어 + 1줄 설명
• apropos와는 달리 완전한 검색어를 넣어야 함

2 실행 예시

[root@jmnote ~]# whatis httpd
httpd                (8)  - Apache Hypertext Transfer Protocol Server

→ httpd = 아파치 HTTP 서버

[root@jmnote ~]# whatis whatis
whatis               (1)  - search the whatis database for complete words

[root@jmnote ~]# whatis what
what: nothing appropriate

→ 검색 결과 없음
